After a fresh axle grease has been applied, clamp and tighten the boots. Insert the axle bearing and lock in the ring clip.

Chevrolet 4wd CV Axle

Start off with un-bolting the 2 bolt support holding the whole disc brake assembly on the Shock Absorber. It will hang down making enough room to pull out the whole axle from the transmission. Since the Velocity Joint is tightly inserted on the disc brake assembly, you will need to hammer the axle velocity joint bold from the front of the disc assembly and try to pry it behind once you get a gap enough for a lever to move it. Hammer it lightly so as not to damage the bolt thread.
